It was so good to hear from you again regarding the treatment progress of your sister. As you know our annual patient conference is coming up again September 11-12, 1998. The evaluations for your exhibit at last year's conference were excellent. Your “Breast Mapping” System makes the whole picture seem so very clear. I had never really given much thought as to what I was actually feeling when I did breast exams and the breast mapping system opened a whole new world for me. When I returned to the office with the framed system, all of us in the office were in awe. One of the women in the office thought it would be ideal for the program with underprivileged young women through her Hadassah chapter. Personally, I have had eight lumps removed - all fibrous adenomas. We really only had to worry about one biopsy, as the pathologists couldn't make up their minds as to whether it was infiltrating ductal or non-malignant and that was over 20 years ago. Every time I find a lump, I am petrified - my last lumps were removed 11/96. Until I saw your system, I never filly realized what I was feeling. Now I put that picture in front of me before I go home to check each month - it seems to dissolve some of the mystery and take away some of my fear. So, even at my age of 58, I have learned so very much that! can share with my own daughter. I don't even mind anymore doing breast self exams. Wouldn't this be a great thing to have more accessible to the public! This system would have been great when I was teaching health in public school. We are hoping you will be able to exhibit again this year at the Anderson Network's patient conference at the Houston Marriott Westside. We are expecting around 1,000 to attend and have great speakers lined up - Bernie Siegel, M.D., Linda Ellerbee, Wendy Harpham, M.D., Michael Lerner, Ph.D., Jeanne Robertson, Scott Burton, and Robert Urich is actually donating his fee to come back. So please come and be part of our stellar line up as your system is so valuable for all those who need something visible and clear for detection. Sincerely,
Patients
and Friends of The University of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center
